  • Discover Barcelona life through a lens! On this truly unique Barcelona photography tour, you learn how to creatively use your camera to capture the essence of this mind-blowing (and ever so photogenic) Spanish city, and communicate its spirit through your photos. Your expert local guide takes you through Barcelona’s gorgeous neighbourhoods, giving you photo lessons along the way to snap the very best photos of the city’s magical streets and panoramas. Wanna learn how to photograph a city like a pro? This is the tour for you!

Your Barcelona photo tour kicks off in the ever-trendy Borne district, famed with the locals for its cool bars and terraces. Here, we take photos of all kinds of buildings, from modernist masterpieces at the Borne Cultural Centre, to one of Barcelona’s most popular Basilicas. As we continue to tour Barcelona’s Borne area, your local guide also leads you to some of the district’s best urban street art, something you definitely want to take photos of as a memento of your time in Barcelona.

Next on this Barcelona tour, we head through Paseo de Colom of Port Vell, or the Old Port. Here, we climb up to higher ground so that we can take some epic photos of the harbour and city as a whole. You have plenty of time up here to look out over the fishing pier and all the parts of the city you can see, and your expert guide fills you in on some of the best angles to check out at this viewpoint.

We continue on from here along the pier and past one of Barcelona’s most beautiful squares, where Barcelona’s famous Colom is located. Barcelona is the kind of place where there is something gorgeous to photograph around every corner, so as we wander, your local guide is pointing out plenty of cool shots to take. With an expert by your side you’re sure to never miss that awesome piece of street art, flawless Gothic building, or snapshot of local life – the kinds of things you definitely want in your BCN photo album!

We head into the Raval district, an alternative neighbourhood where all kinds of cultures are mixed, from student life to Barcelona’s buzzing immigrant population. We walk by some legendary Gaudi architecture (because what Barcelona sightseeing tour would be complete without it?), the city’s Film Library, and stroll down some of Raval’s most iconic streets, taking photos of the classic Barcelona buildings, tall and compact, and dotted with balconies.

Our next stop on this Barcelona photography tour takes a shift from the cosy streets and dives into market life in La Bouqueria. Here, your senses come alive as you’re surrounded by all kinds of smells, shapes, and colours. La Bouqueria is one of the best places in Barcelona to take photos, as it connects you to everyday local life in the city and adds a dash of colour to your photo album. If you haven’t yet broken out the #nofilter, don’t be surprised if now’s the time.

This tour leaves you with so many memories of your time in Barcelona, and plenty of sharp photo skills to take with you on your future travels around the world!

  • Mr. Eilidh Jane G. from Canada travelled on 02 May 2017:

Marco was an excellent guide, with great knowledge and able to adjust the tour to the wet weather (ducking in and out of buildings to avoid rain showers) and re-routing to take advantage of clear spells for pictures of architecture as well as being willing to indicate places of interest for photography alone when the sunshine returned. Lots of local information and history. I have some fantastic photographs as a result and would have no hesitation in recommending this tour.

Ms. Jane S. from United Kingdom travelled on 06 Oct 2015:

This was an excellent tour and the highlight of my trip. I particularly enjoyed having a tour guide that provided useful and interesting local information as well as instruction and advice in photography. As someone who was new to digital photography and was using a new camera for the first time (not good I know) Alicia (?) was patient and encouraging and gave advice at an appropriate level. I really felt inspired at the end.
A guide did not turn up on the scheduled day. I understand that the unexpected can happen but was very disappointed as this tour had prompted my visit to Barcelona. Alicia very kindly arranged to do the tour with me the next day and I appreciate this immensely. many thanks to Alicia for ‘going the extra mile’.

Mr. Peter O. from United Kingdom travelled on 28 Mar 2015:

I was on the Snapshots of Barcelona with Alicia and was the only guest. This was a really informative walk round the city coupled with tips and hints on how to use the camera to gain the best from the photo opportunities in Barcelona. Apart from the obvious main tourist attractions, we also visited less touristy ones and off the beaten track. I would highly recommend this as an excellent orientation walk with the bonus of photo tips.

Ms. Anna T. from Australia travelled on 08 Nov 2014:

This surpassed my expectations. Alicia spent almost 4 hours with us and showed us so much of this wonderful city. But what I really loved is that the lens of photography and her tips in picking out elements to capture really made me attentive to Barcelona’s density of detail. Even as a non-photographer, I am so pleased that I did this tour – it was fun, creative, hands-on and informative. Thanks Alicia.

Jane C. from Australia travelled on 14 Oct 2014:

Marco was a very friendly, informative and helpful guide and in the 3+ hours we had together he packed in lots of interesting sights and information presented with good humour. This tour very much enriched my Barcelona experience!
